A note from Cosy:
I am so grateful for this community – all of you who have come to camp to help create it: one song circle, one jam session, one student concert, one year at a time. When TR Ritchie and I first started Moab Folk Camp in 2008, we had no idea if anyone would come, and you did. Thank you all so much.
Moab Folk Camp has always run in the black. We keep our expenses low (we have fed you from Costco...) and stay within our budget. We have managed to do this for fifteen years. However, we’ve kept the teacher pay and travel stipend the same for about ten years. We value our teachers and want to compensate them at a level that is comparable to other camps. Last year we raised their pay and travel stipend. This raised our operating expenses. When we started Moab Folk Camp in 2008, TR and I lived in town and we used our kitchen chairs and extra guitars and even our yard. We stored everything for camp in our back shed. Our cars were the camp taxi and moving van. Back then a camper could also rent a hotel room in Moab for $50/night.
All of this has changed.
We have tried to keep our tuition as low as possible in order to keep camp accessible to everyone. We continue to be committed to keeping camp as affordable as possible. This fund supports both the scholarship and general operating funds of Moab Folk Camp.
If you are in a position to donate to our general fund we would be most grateful. We are a 501(c)(3); your donation is tax deductible. We will send you a thank you letter for your records.
Any donation is deeply appreciated, but know that your presence at camp is the best gift of all.
Thank you.
