Welcome to Desert Song: A Songwriter's Retreat - our springtime session.
For three days we will meet each morning to write and talk about songs and songwriting. In the early afternoon, Charlie Koch will offer a guitar class: Accompaniment for Songwriters. Our song coach Marie Eaton will offer one-on-one time for individual feedback. In the evenings we gather again for a song circle and Bring-Your-Own-Dinner. In-between is your time for writing and enjoying the beauty of Moab.
Orientation begins Tuesday evening, May 27, and we say goodbye at our last song circle on Friday evening, May 30.
The Workshop will be held at The Moab Arts & Recreation Center (The MARC) in downtown Moab.
Participants are responsible for their own lodging and meals.
Tuition $450. Payment by check is preferred. There is a $12 processing fee for credit card payments.
2025 Lodging Information
Moosewood Cottage ~ Rent a bedroom in this charming 3-bedroom cottage on the west side of Moab starting Tuesday night May 27 and checking out on Saturday morning May 31.
Full kitchen and livingroom. Two full bathrooms and a shaded porch. Two queen bedrooms and one bedroom with two twin beds. Each room is $550. Email Cosy for info.

Bowen Motel ~ This is an older motel in downtown with some of the best prices available. It is in easy walking distance of The MARC and all of the downtown restaurants. Their room rates go up as the motel fills up, so reserve early. There are two price options, and the lower-priced option is not refundable; if you choose the higher AAA rate (sign up for AAA), you will be able to cancel with 24 hours notice.
